I started using Goodreads.com a few years back and got a little overboard on tracking and updating. Its a really cool resource to see your year in reading and how your tastes have shifted per life events occurring too! There is a big aspect of Goodreads where a reader sets a 'goal' for the year, and this was the first year I reached mine! I tried for a few years to hit 50, but failed miserably. This year I decided to attempt to read 5 books more than I did in 2014- and I did it! Ending at 43 books (a week early), its been a stellar reading year for me.
Goodreads pulls together a cool visual at the end of each year a bunch of data and analytics based on your year of reading, and while I was stressed that there were only 7 days left of the year and it was already released (hello! I could totally and probably will finish another book in that time) it's still really neat to look back on. My preferences are all over the place, but I present, My Year in Reading 2015.
My quick reference for books I would read over and over again, or Top 10 In-No-Order are as follows; 1 All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr, 2 The Winter Girl by Matt Marinovich, 3 My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante, 4 Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, 5 Dept. of Speculation by Jenny Offill, 6 The Truth About The Harry Quebert Affair by Joel Dicker, 7 The Secret History by Donna Tartt, 8 To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, 9 The Defining Decade by Meg Jay, 10 Outlander by Diana Gabaldon.
Thanks for following along on my reading journey through the latter of the year! Looking forward to an ever evolving 2016.
